You really think she'd win that easily? Don't forget that the winner is determined by voting, not by talent. If Celine Dion entered the contest, she'd have to win over the under-12 crowd, American Idol's principal audience. Have kids under the age of 12 any idea what constitutes talent? Of course not. As such, they are incapable of voting for the most talented and instead vote solely on who's the cutest. This would place Miss Dion at a rather unfortunate disadvantage. Until a woman pushing 40 is able to defeat girls 20 years younger in a cuteness contest, she'd be better off not entering this particular brand of karaoke.

The whole reason people are on this show, is to get the publicity and the record deal, and also the money, but it is for the unknown talent. You can't already be famous. Also, you have to be no more than 20 something.. You can't be over 30 I know that for sure.. Just so you know for next time, no famous people can enter, so its not that the already famous people are dumb.

She is ineligible because she is already signed with a label and is over the age limit of 29. Plus, she already is worth over $100 million so I think she'll be fine without Idol.

I doubt that she could enter.
Firstly, she is already a well-known singer. The show is for the unknown.
Secondly, she couldn't because she is Canadian. She'd have to be on Canadian Idol.

because already famous singers cannot enter american idol....they would win easily and would leave no chance for the singers who are trying to make it...
