My co-worker and myself were talking about the recent post of using castor oil to induce labor, she said she thought was bad for the both-baby and mother.

Our question is can castor oil make you lose your baby if taken to early in the pregnancy?

wo0o0ohhh!!! i guess people think of anyway not to get pregnant...

n-e-who yeah Castor oil is a really bad idea for the mother and the baby

i know someone that tried it and her and her new born baby had big problems.

the doctor told her she couldn't have anymore babies and if she tried it could be very painful

i mean I'm sure different peoples bodies will react differently to different things but no one should take th risk of harming them selves or a baby they might have anyway.

People use castor oil to induce labor but in every case I've ever heard, it just causes a really bad case of diarhea. The contractions from diarhea causes a slim chance of going into labor, but it doesn't work most of the time and it's not worth the diarhea.

Castor oil can cause you to lose the baby if you become overdehydrated because of the diarhea.

If there were an easy, reliable way to abort using common household materials, it would be well known and commonly used. before legal abortions hundreds used to die from botched abortions by amateurs, and the proverbial coat hanger wire. When my parents were growing up in England, they said the story there was that bicycling too hard too often would induce a miscarriage. Apparently a lot of girls in trouble tried this, with very poor results.

So I strongly doubt this works.

As for labour, ditto. If it were that easy, the doctors would be telling women to try it.

I would strong discourage taking excessive doses of anything strange while pregnant especially early in the pregnancy, but also any time. At critical points in a baby's development, you don't want to mess with body chemistry.

Yes it can, if you take enough of it before the 36 week mark than your baby is probably going to be in NICU for some time. It really isn't good for the mother as it causes bad diahrea and who wants that when you are delivering??? Not to mention your dehydrating yourself. I say stay away from it and wait till your baby is ready to come on it's own. Why have that kind of risk?

don't know, but i do know that it doesn't necessarily induce labor either. my friend drank bottles...i mean bottles! of the stuff and it didn't help her start labor
