Nah... As soon as Bush is replaced by someopne with a working brain, the current tensions will ease up.
There is too much at stake now, China and Russia would not join force and go on war, they have too much business and exportations with the rest of the world.
As for North Korea, they have nothing to frighten anyone, except a totally demented leader, and China will not let them mess the area (they share a border with North Korea). In fact, China was totally ^%$#@ at Kim Jung-Il for his really dumb nuclear experiment, and the fact he stopped is due to China telling him to stop or else.
Venezuela does not have military power, their president is a loud mouth, but has no teeth, same for Cuba.
VietNam has no capability for projecting military power, so is quite harmless.
That said, to see Pakistan as an allied is jumping to conclusion. Pakistan is the source of most islamism fundamentalism (and so is Saudi Arabia; remember this is the country where most of the 9/11 terrorists came from, and is the birth place of Bin Laden), and Musharraf is at the same time contested and unable to curb civil unrest. If he is overthrown and fundamentalists take over, that is the area where problem would start.

I don't know if there's going to be another cold war, but I do believe there's going to be a WW III. Putin however seems like he's trying to reassemble the old Soviet bloc.
I don't know if he can pull that off, because it's been apart for so long. Our best bet would be to supply the old Yugoslavian factions with anything they need to stop that from happening.
If the old Russia were to reappear, we would defiantly be into a cold war again. But I would think it would be a three way deal, USA / Russia / China.
I feel WW III will happen within 15-20 years, when the fresh clean water and raw petroleum reserves are expended to critical levels.
I think the OPEC nations (excluding Venezuela, due to geographic location) will band together for nothing other than survival.
When the oil reserves are at critical levels, the big boys on the block are gonna want them. That being the USA, China and to some extent Russia. Everybody will pick the sides that best suits them. I'm not even going to speculate who that's going to be, so far in the future.
I'm sure China and Russia will be aligned in some manner. And I'm afraid the OPEC nations will side with the China and Russian factions. I feel that will happen because China and Russia are next door to the OPEC nations and we sadly, are on the far side of the planet. Geography works against us in this scenario.
Even though China has a large military force, we have vastly superior weaponry. But that superiority has been challenged by China, when they demonstrated they can hit a satellite in orbit.
Right now our superiority lies in our ability to use advanced satellite technology to take visual reconnaissance, advanced communications, GPS information for troop movement, military equipment placement and weapons use.
China has in an indirect way told us that she can blind and bind us, by taking out our military satellites. Unless we demonstrate in a timely manner that we can counter that threat, I fear China may become bolder in their actions.
The beginning of the end, I believe will come when China retakes Taiwan. If they can successfully take the island and hold it, there will be no stopping them.

Russia walked away from an arms treaty because the US wants to put up missile defense in former Soviet satellite states. The US itself first abandoned the ABM treaty. China is building up its army, but its based on numbers, not quality. Its only high tech source is Russia, which keeps its best stuff for itself.Russia is understandably concerned that NATO is now on its doorstep, but it is in no position to pick a fight alone against the rest of the world, even though its new class of submarines and submarine launched cruise missiles can be argued to be top notch. I don't think China will combine forces with any of the countries listed as Axis any time this millennium. The only country listed which Russia would be remotely interested in developing a "special relationship" with is China, and then only as a trading partner.

No, I don't think we're heading for a re-match in the Cold War. Russia and China just aren't as committed to communism, and the US, for that matter, is not as committed to capitalism. China and the US, in particular, are getting to have more and more interests in common than in conflict, and Russia may well eventually join the EU.
The current global conflict is between religious extremists and the more secular developed world. Whether they're actively allied, or downrigth obstructionist in the current conflict, Europe, Russia, China, the US, and many other developed and rapidly developing countries are on the same side in this conflict. And, while some nations, like Iran, are clearly on the other, much of the 'other' side is globally distributed, including having a large presence in the very societies they want to bring down. Muslim immigrants in europe and fundamentalists christians in the US, for isntance.

This is what i think will happen. Iran will eventually attack Isreal. Once they do, the USA will probably attack Iran. Russia will get pissed because they sell weapons to Iran, and they will say that by fighting with Iran we are destroying their salary, and attack us and israel. The other nations will join in on their own timelines. About the cold war, though, I actually don't think so. If there will be, it will probably be part of WWIII.
