It was actually a rental loaner because my new car is being repaired. The rental agent didnt mention bringing it back with a full tank of gas but I did get it with a full tank, and I dont want my credit card charged for gas, does anyone know?

Yeah or else they are going to charge you a lot extra for it.

Not a full tank but what was in it when you got it.

During the rental process you were informed of the situation with the gas, and I do believe you signed the agreement relating the return and the tank of gas... the best is to find the cheapest place and fill the tank or they will charge you at the highest going rate for the gas and possibly the cost to take the car to a station and fill it.

I have rented from Enterprise before. I always return the car with the same amount of gas it had when I got it. So if it was half full I returned it half full. If it was 1/4 full I returned it with 1/4. So yes you need to return it with a full tank.

Locking gas cap and alarm would help. And I'm not talking the expensive alarm. There's a cheap one that goes off when a connection is broken, like the door opening or the hood raising. I try to keep my car's fuel tank somewhat full because the gas prices are jumping all over the board.

it depends on how you receceived the car. On your rental contact there should be a fuel reading shown. Usually you just replace the fuel you use. You call the dealer who gave you the loaner if you want the correct answer. If you did not get it full I would expect you would have to return it the way your received it.

Somewhere in the rental agreement you'll find a statement that says, "Renter must return vehicle with full tank of gasoline. Failure to do so, will result in extra charges."

I would suggest you fill the tank, or else they'll fill it - with the most expensive gas in town.

Bring the car back with the same amount of gas that you started with. The rental companies charge more per Gal. if they do it.

Yes Fill the Tank. If you don't Enterprise will charge you about 1.5 times the going price of gas to fill it.

You will have to return it with the same amount that was in there when they gave it too you not less then that but I dont think they would care if you put more in also you have to make sure it is not dirty has no scratches etc... because they will charge you for any gas missing and scratches etc...
