This Empty-Nesting Single Retiree went back to College once again (yes, I already had UGrad and Grad Degrees -- careers, and yes, pension!), to have fun -- and maybe learn to enjoy a new hobby or skill ... and one of the courses I took was ... DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY!
So out I went and purchased a Digital SLR Camera, a couple of extra lenses, and yes, some other things for the course. I got the assignments, with the GOAL of NOT paying for most of the places or events that I would need to go to in order to get unusual images for the class -- and yes, even though I live rurally -- I MET That goal -- and ...
UNLIKE my classmates (and I do live on the Gulf Coast), my photos were of Farms, old Religious Sites, Sunsets over the fields, Pastoral Scenes, unusual buildings and places, and ... most importantly ... everything that I found interesting that was NOT being used by others in the classroom.
NOT ONLY were they EXCELLENT images (and the Arabians on the Family Farm were one of the real "hits" for images for the class), but the churches that were over a century old provided a LOT of interest too. And the class favorite ... the RODEO photos I took!
