How come everytime I try to give myself a thumbs up a rude note pops up and yells at me? Don't they know who I am? It hurts my feelings. I sincerely believe ALL my answers deserve a million thumbs up. Don't you?

That's not how it works. That function is so that you can only give stars and thumbs up to other users, and other users can star your questions and give you thumbs up for your answers.
