Yes, they should. Look, I dislike Bonds very much and I think he took away the authenticity of the game(with some help from others). But, you have to realize that with or without chemicals, he did contribute to it on his own. He did not always take steroids. Who knows? Maybe it was just one year that he did(when he broke the single season home run record like it was nothing). What I am trying to say is that he will get a ceremony whether we all ***** about it or not. Let's all just acknowledge the obvious and move on with the baseball season and the hours of discussion over this matter.

all these ppl crack me up saying he's a cheater, where was it in the baseball rule book that steroids were illegal? B/c as far as I know it was only a rule in football and how bout all those other players who have admitted to using but they get not even half the attention Bonds does, he'll break the record and they'll celebrate and I'll be cheering right along with all the other Giants fans when he does, b/c no one can dispute what a Great player he is and how much attention he has brought to the game of baseball
GO GIANTS!!!! GO BARRY

I hope they do and if they plan to do so, it's criticized by fans and media alike.

How many home runs should Bonds be legitimately credited with?
He may be approaching the #, but you have to figure that beating his career record by 24 (73 vs 49), he had the benefit of those 30 (or so) followed by 10, 12, 15 more in subsequent years.

It puts him at 67 less than he actually has and he has about 78 legit home runs to go to beat the record. Then, you can honour him.

If it didn't help him in some way, he wouldn't have done it.

I am sure there will be.. even though it is apparent to most people that Bonds has enjoyed some unnatural growth (just look at the size of his head... nuff said).. there has been no concrete info that he did cheat..

Baseball loves to be self-important with special awards and all that mess and gotten away from the game.. I pesronally can't stand Bonds, but then again I am a Dodgers fan and hate all the Giants, but again, I also don't really give to squats what an athlete does to his own body.. they will deal with the ramifications eventually.

There will be a short pause during the game to acknowledge it.

The thing is. If he breaks it on the road, will the fans boo the entire time of the ceremony?

No - Barry's a loser and I firmly believe he took the 'roids. I just hate how it's been turned into a racial thing when it really doesn't matter what color he is. He broke MLB rules and possibly the law and should be punished like anyone else.

maybe maybe not. In some ways, it would be wrong to do that because of his steroid use and his use of a corked bat. But it would be somewhat disrespectful for there to be no ceremony, I think they should either give him the ceremony and NOT put him in the hall of fame, or vice versa.
