My second pregnancy I didn't have time to notice everything that went on with my first pregnancy. I mean it is all new with your first one, but the time you get pregnant again nothing is really that new. I would say that maybe this baby isn't quite as active which could be very normal, plus you have a 8 month old that takes most of your attention. I went through the same thing. When my baby started kicking my son would have been 8 months old also. My children are 13 months apart. So, I can understand exactly what you mean. I am sure everything is fine.

at 19 weeks the baby is still small, you may not feel every movement. If you get a break, drink juice or other high sugar beverage and lay down, the sugar should make the baby active.

Whoo, 19 weeks and an 8 month old, good luck!!!

The baby should start to kick more and more as time goes on but there really isn't a specific amount of times they should kick. Also every time the baby kicks you may not feel it If you are really concerned about it ask your doctor to give you a stress test. This will measure how much the baby is moving.

If you are very active you certainly could just be missing the kicks.

If you are worried about it I would set aside some time to do some kick counts.

Drink a soda or some orange juice and wait for the kicks. You need to be in a calm place and not running after your 8 month old.

HTH.
