Being outside, it's going to be hard. It's unattractive, but try some of that sticky fly tape that you hang up. We actually had to stick one of those in our kitchen, flies were awful....Another thing I've done before, I've always had a smaller fenced in area in our yard-called it the dog poop yard. Obviously pick up the poop frequently, but once a month I would use Dawn liquid dish detergent, hook up an attachment to the hose, and "wash" the yard. The soap doesn't hurt the grass, gets rid of the poopy smell that hits in the summer time, and tends to help keep the fly populations down as well. Good luck!!

Proper sanitation - that is pooper patrol - is key. You must scoop up droppings and dispose of them properly - several times a day. I had a "Doggie Dooley" outside each of my 6 runs for just that purpose.

As is cleaning and disinfecting the whole area - not just the floor - but walls and fences too with a mild, non-poisonous (to dogs) soap.

Keep food containers covered. Keep dishes clean. Don't leave things hanging around (attracts rodents and other varmints besides flies)

Good ventilation is important as flies don't care much for moving air. They prefer still air.

Fly-bait crystals and fly-strips work well to keep them in control. Keep these AWAY from the dogs!

Cloves and mint are a natural solution. I imagine for a kennel you would have to use quite a bit. Good luck!
