Good question. Her image is pretty much conformed to the norm, and her music really NEVER was all that rebellious really, aside of not being Britney Spears. I've never found her to be punk at all. Retro, at best, but definitely not punk or rebel.

When she first entered the celebrity world as a immature teenager she was known for her black baggy clothes and rebellious look, now she's changed into a mature Canadian girl and she's coming back into the charts with a new look.

Not so much anymore. Her new song is very pop-y, and she is now saying she considers herself a girly girl, she likes to do girly things.
She's not as punk as she used to be.

Well, her clothing style is "rock", but her music is pop. It might be because of style.
