from a fellow wings fan.
1) the last year that Detroit didn't make the playoffs
2) the coach at that time
3) the lineup that was started most of the time during that season
4) leading scorer for that season.
5) starting goalie.
don't use the internet. 10 pts to the first wings fan who does. i'll bet $ that a non-wings fan gets it before you do. or zamdriver.

it's funny, most of the wings fans are still posting to other questions but not this one.
zamdriver is the only guy i recognize. very close. props to you for a quick answer off the top of your head. you probly got it off quicker than what i had to think it up. had to brush some cobwebs out. good tries G. F., S H, and YouWish ...
seriously. good tries. i can tell you've been around. for the rest of you. WHERE DID YOU GO? I CAN ALMOST HEAR YOUR KEYBOARDS GOING CRAZY TYPING INTO GOOGLE.
a non-season isn't a season. sorry Mr. Lockout.

since my question is based on opinion ("what was the main starting lineup?", since that changed from game to game, i'll be lenient in awarding a best answer, but i can't award it if you have an obvious mistake)
some of you are very close. i'm also gonna leave the question open for the full 3 days at least to see how many bandwagoners bite. but i'll remember who got it first.

S H, G. F., and YouWish ...
all i mean, is that although you have good answers, i truly don't know if your fans, cuz i don't see you posting on the hockey forum much, especially during the "other hockey season" when the wings need you most. but good answers. very close.

playboy, you're guessing. i can tell, cuz you change your answers. good tries, but this is aimed at targeting bandwagon Red Wings fans. notice how they are avoiding the question.

at least admit that you didn't get the first guess correct, and be man about it like zamdriver. don't sneak the changes in. and pick some people. don't list half the roster.

when you put actual numbers in, you kinda give it away that you looked it up. besides, most of you are coming out of the woodwork. i see zamdriver on here on a regular basis. and he's got intelligent answers.
i appreciate the response playboy. better than most of the "good years" wings fans. i'm a detroit brother from another mother. so you're good in my book.

Just saw it now but I will guess:
1. 1990
2. Jaques Demers
3. Dont remember defense. Primeau-Yzerman-Burr?
4. Federov or Yzerman
5. Cheveldae
This is a good question, but who do you think is going to win the 2007 Stanley Cup?
p.s.- looked it up, looks like Lee Norwood and Rick Zombo were getting most of the 1st line blue line time that year. Never would have remembered those guys, I was 13.
after looking it up, I know all the answers, but that wasn't the nature of the question, so I won't change mine. Point well made.
This question separates the moronic majority fairweather fans that post on this site. I bet we get 5 times as many answers if you ask "if the Red Wings are the greatest team ever this year.?" Or try this one "who is more of a hottie, Lidstrom or Datsyuk?"
FYI-
Took you wrong Playboy, my fault. Real Wings fans are ok.
