How can I "opt out" of telemarketing calls.?

Question

I am currently in college and am recieving calls from consoladation companys for my current student loans, how do I get my name taken off their list. They are driving me nuts.

There is a national do not call list administered by the FCC.

Note, though, that it doesn't aply to businesses you already have a 'relationship' with - so if you ever take out a loan or buy something from someone, they /can/ call you.
