I'm a HUGE karaoke fanatic, and obsessed with American Idol. Now, I go to a lot of karaoke places, and I've noticed at a gay karaoke bar, the GLBT people sing much better than the non-GLBT people (usually) and also, on American Idol, there's LOTS of gay and lesbians auditioning (and probably bi too, but I don't have good "bi-dar")

So...how well do you guys sing?

I've been told I sing well...I do well singing "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton, and "Follow Me" by Uncle Cracker..if that gives you any indication of my vocal range..lol.

I sing well actually, took first place in the Moscow State Jazz Festival my senior year. Don't do the karaoke thing much though, I am a little more modest than I used to be. My wife sings pretty well also, she played viola in a string quartet for a number of years as well. One of my dearest male friends (gay) sings with the opera company in the area and has been teaching private voice lessons for a while now.

I have sung in bands and I was not bad, I have heard many times that I have a good voice. I have to add that these where punk bands and my singing was not exactly sweet like an angel ;)
My voice is pretty low and I like that. I think it's sexy. But don't ask me to sing things that go up high because I would probably make your ears hurt and myself cry from laughter or embarrassment :)

Oh and don't ever put me on a show like Idols because I would definately been send away instantly!

I can sing on key and carry a tune... But I wouldn't try out for American Idol, I'm not that good. However that doesn't stop me from singing in the shower. :)

My friends tell me they love it when I sing along to songs but I personally think I have a terrible singing voice. >_<

Karaoke is fun when you have friends singing with you! lol

I absolutely love to sing- I'm always humming, whistling, singing, or plain out yodelling to the heavens.

Unfortunately, I've been told often that I'm terrible at it.

Ah, well, that's okay. I've never been one to let them get me down- I'll just keep on singin'!

I was a vocal performance major in college. That was 30 years ago, and I'm a bit rusty, but I can still croon a tune.

Not too badly as long as I stick to ballads and such. When I start going for the Hard Core rock tunes I can do OK depending on who originally sang it. Sammy Hagar seems to be one of my better choices for that.
