Heroes. For everything Rose said and more.
The characters are better in Heroes, especially Sylar, Bennet, Claude, and Mohinder. The Heroes' actions actually come from the character and, you know, make sense, even when it comes from the crazy ones like Sylar and Mohinder (or as Mohinder says, a deranged lunatic). I mean, who doesn't want to be special? (Sylar, Peter.) Save the world? (Hiro, Peter, Linderman.) Help people? (Mohinder.) Be a hero, or at least make something of their life? (Isaac.) Fit in? (Claire.) Protect their family at all costs? (Bennet, Niki/Jessica, DL, Parkman.) A parent's love? (Mohinder, Sylar, Claire.) Make up for a past wrong? (Nathan, Isaac, Ted, Bennet.) Not to feel alone in the world? (Peter, Claire.) Lost tries too hard to explain their characters' motives through those (usually) boring flashbacks, and even then it doesn't always make sense. I hate the way they did that last minute 'Let's feel sorry for Ben' episode. Sylar's murder of his mother didn't feel forced the way that Ben's murder of his father did. The Heroes writers don't decide to change the characters to better suit the story the way the Lost writers do. Also, the characters aren't so obnoxious that I want to strangle them all, the way the Lost characters are. Jack and Kate need to get over themselves already. In fact, Lost seems stuck on Jack/Sawyer/Kate/Juliet. They seem to forget that there's, you know, other characters for them to work with. Heroes doesn't waste so much screen time on new characters and forget the old ones, the way that Lost did with Ana-Lucia, Ben, and Juliet. I actually care what happens to the Heroes; the hiatus where Sylar had Mohinder pinned to the ceiling was the worst one ever for me, and my friends and family, I'm sure, because I couldn't stop talking about my poor Mohinder. I was so worried about him! (Peter, not so much, cause I knew he would survive the attack.) I was even sad when Ted died, and he's a minor character. Locke is my favorite character on Lost, and even now, as he's in Ben's pit, probably bleeding to death, I'm just kind of meh. The Heroes actors have better chemistry with each other, and make even exposition interesting. (Mohinder/Sylar, Bennet/Parkman/Ted, Bennet/Claire, Claire/Peter, Peter/Claude, Bennet/Claude, Nathan/Hiro, I could go on and on but I won't.) The same can't be said about the Lost actors. Heroes had the best love triangle resolution ever! I wish the same thing that happened to Simone would happen to Kate. I just hate love triangles SO much! It's weak writing, and I'm sick of it. And the villains on Heroes aren't so mwhaha as they are on Lost, even Sylar, and he's a brain-eating serial killer with superpowers and a potential supervillain name- "The Bogeyman", which I love, by the way. And on a shallow level, it doesn't hurt that Sylar and Mohinder are so pretty, especially when they're together. Rowr.
Long story short (too late!), the writing on Heroes is just better. Perhaps this clip can explain why I prefer Heroes over Lost. I bet It's a pretty accurate depiction of the Lost writers, and it says it all better than I can. "Does it have to be a wizard?" Hi-larious!

Heroes. one ingredient that annoys me approximately lost is they shop introducing new mysteries without giving us any decision to previous ones. With Heroes, they supply us a secret, supply us the solutions, then a clean secret. that is greater pleasing. I additionally discover lots of the characters on Heroes to be greater compelling - i've got reached the ingredient on lost the place i won't be in a position to stand Kate, and the insipid Kate/Jack/Sawyer love triangle made me hate lots of the practice final season. i'm additionally bored to death in lost killing off characters merely while they start to get exciting. My widespread characters on Heroes are Sylar and Bennet. they're the two complicated, and neither is thoroughly solid or evil (even Sylar has shown some warning signs of humanity). On Heroes, i like Locke and Sayid.

Heroes. I prefer the characters, and I like that we get answers to the questions and resolution to plots as they keep moving things forward. They also don't get bogged down so much in the flashbacks, and when they introduced a boring love triangle they had the sense to kill off most of the parties instead of letting it drag down the rest of the show.
And it doesn't hurt that Sylar's way hot. For a brain-eating supervillain, that is. He may be evil but I'd like to see him stick around.

They are both stupid. If I have to pick the lesser of 2 evils, I choose Heroes. The plot of Lost is ridiculous. If they have all this technology and all these new people keep showing up on the island, why can't they get off the island? DUMB
