How do you classify "art"?

Would you consider more contemporary pieces such as Rothko's that just sold for 73 million as art?

If not, how do you define art? Any examples that you'd like to give of what you consider to be great pieces of artwork?

I looked at that Rothko piece ... $73 million!!????? That's ridiculous! To me, that doesn't show a bit of talent or creativity!! It's just a combination of a few colors.
