Just received my FreeStyle Freedom Blood Glucose meter. I downloaded their maintenance software onto my computer. They said I need a data cable or a serial to USB adapter and connect to a USB port.
Where do I buy these cables and which is better:
1. The Data Cable
2. Serial to USB adapter and connect to a USB Port.

They didn't have the info. on their website. So I wrote to them. It is a Keyspan USB Serial Adapter USA-19HS that I need to buy. They also said that a Data Cable has not been tested. I thank all of you for answering.

If your glucose meter has a usb connector that is about a quater of an in sq., then that is the cable that you want. If, on the other hand it has a port that is about an inch an a half long, then you what a serial to usb cable. Any good computer store like Staples or Office Depot will have these cables. do a little calling around, the prices differ greatly for store to store.

USB adapter is way better because USB is a faster drive.
Walmart, or any "mart" sells them, as well as any computer store.

You will need one that is specifically for your meter. Check the company's web site.
