Has anyone ever made it big in modeling, who started out with barbizon. I have an audition on Friday, and I need to know if I'm wasting my time?

Barbizon is an awesome "school". They teach you how to walk and apply make-up, do poses, etc...as far as an actual agency and getting you go-sees? They suck.

Lillie is absolutely right. If you have sense you would look at the links, because she provided sources for her claim. I went to Barbizon and it is indeed a scam. You spend a lot of money and they don't find you work. I know of another person that also spent a lot of money and the same thing happened to him. Modeling schools don't increase self confidence either. You will be there with other girls, who may have more potential and prettier than you, and you'll feel worse. You will get criticized and if you have low self-esteem you won't be able to handle it. You should really do your research on Barbizon.

Barbizon is actually not a very good school. They have some excellent teachers, depending on where you are, but they don't help thier graduates by promoting them or helping them find jobs. I would suggest going to a different school.

Barbizon, like John Robert Powers is a SCAM! Don't give them money. They are NOT a legitimate Modeling Agency. All they want is your money!

The professional modeling industry is in New York City.

They teach how to walk the runway. After that, you're on your own.
