I finished bleeding from my miscarraige about a month ago and got a depo shot. Now I am having my first period post miscarraige and it is lighter but loooonger than normal.
Please give me your experiences so I know if this is unusual.

Depo can cause long periods of light to heavy spotting (breakthrough bleeding) in the first three - six months. So I doubt it has much to do with your miscarriage, but of you're worried check with your gyno.

It depends on the person. After my miscarriage, I had a rather heavy period that lasted longer than usual. some people skip a month, some don't. Stress and anxiety as a result of the miscarriage can also cause irregularities. I would wait and see what your next one is like- things should be getting more back to normal by then. As always, if you have concerns, talk to your doctor.

its not from the miscarriage its the depo shot. I was on that and bleed the WHOLE time I was on it and then about 3 or 4 more months after I stopped it. Its a bad form of BC. it works but just not good. it messes your body up so much.

Irregular, heavy, or no bleeding are common side effects of using Depo-Provera. But why is it that people who have serious questions about their bodies and possible diseases or side effects never actually ask a doctor? Getting answers on-line from a community of people who may or may not know what they are talking about is crazy. If you don't know what is going on with your body, you should get on the phone and ask your doctor. Your health and your body = your responsibility.
