Video games, cell phones, ipods. Spoiled kids who get whatever they want like designer clothes. We wore hand me downs when I was growing up. Parents do not say no. Kids think that they are the center of the universe. Meals are not eaten together as a family at the table. They are being taught self-gratification. No discipline.

I think a huge part of it is the parents fault. Parents are supposed to teach children correct principles then guide them while they make some of the tough decisions they will face in life. It is more common these days for both parents to work and the children to be in day care till they are old enough to go to school. Then they come home to an empty house till 5 when the parents come home too tired to even have a decent dinner and conversation. We rely on other people to teach our children, then wonder why they haven't turned out the way we want.

I do blame the parents. Discipline has become very lax and some parents would rather pump their kids with TV and video games instead of interacting with them.

here's the thing: you can only teach so much to a child, he/she at the end has to make their own decisions. a parent cannot be there 24/7 but mind you if a kid every disrepects me i will slap the living hell out of you!! oh hell no!!

it is partly down to the individual child but i think the parents do have alot to do with it, not teaching children right from wrong, or sex education. expecting t.v to teach your childrens values and thn blaming it on marilyn manson when something goes wrong can't exactly be considered good parenting

Parents today rely on T.V. to raise their kids. They don't spend enough time teaching them values.
(I'm sorry if I offend anyone. I try not to be mean, I'm just giving my oppinion.)
