~I have a pregnant guppy and I just got her today, her belly is pretty big and the gravid spot is cleary visible. I'm not sure when to put her in the breeding net, what are the signs that she's about to give birth?

~I also have a pregnant platy, how will I know when its her time to have the babies. Also: can the guppy fry and the platy fry be in the same breeding net together once they're born?

I would say go ahead and put her in the breeding net. There really aren't any good signs for when she will give birth and since you don't know how long she's been pregnant, assume she could any day now.

If the babies are born pretty close together then yes they can share the same breeding net.

Her stomach will look square'ish and she will zoom up and down the tank, zooming about the tank looking for hiding places, I wouldnt put her in a net or clear box breeding contraption it only stresses her out and can cause, still births, she can also abort her pregnancy, If you have a spare aquqrium, 2-10 gal i would put lots of plants in there and put here in there, to give birth, Use the breeding net to keep the babies (fry) and good luck with your babies or fry, Oh and the platie will probibly be wide when you look at her from the front and she will probibly zoom about aswell, And the platies and guppy fry WILL be fine together,

the guppy's belly will become square shaped as she approches her due date. once it becomes square shaped, expect it will be another week and a half or two. Also, If you think she is ready to pop, do a 20% water change. It will help jump start her labor. And yes the fry can all be together. the will get along just fine. good luck.

I would put them in the breeding net, shouldn't be any problems keeping the fry together as long as they are fairly close in seize.
