can someone do something about it? what is thier reasons for increasing the cost of stamps?

Why is this in Family? To answer your question- people mail less stuff in the mail now that we have email and cell phones to keep in touch with people far away. Plus they have to pay the high fuel prices but they are carrying less mail. I don't agree with it, but it happens.

Look at the price of gas alone. I do not think that 41 cents to send something across the country is too bad. If you disagree check with UPS they will charge you at least $3.00 to go the same distance. The employees of the Post Office also have benefits, and get raises just like you and I so somebody has to pay for it.

41 cents does not seem like a lot of money in this day and age.
I suspect the price went up because so many people email instead of writing real letters. Also, because the cost of gas is way up. It costs a lot of money to drive the mail trucks.

it sucks~ i mailed out wedding invitations and it cost me over $100. but i guess people will be able to buy "forever" stamps that remain valid regardless of any future increase.

have you seen the cost of gasoline lately. i doubt that 2 cents will cover it.
