I've never made fum of anyone with braces, or leg braces, or in a wheelchair, or someone who stutters, or called someone a retard. I'm not put together that way. I don't go around dissing people in order to feel better about myself, to make myself look like a big man. I don't need that bullcrap in my life. I wouldn't like it if someone did it to me so I don't go around doing it to others. I disassociate myself from those who choose to be jerks. If a child needs orthodontics then big deal. I don't think any less of the person. I think what would be truly mean is to deny the child braces in order to spare the kid possible taunts from people of disputable character. I've even gone so far as to stand up to those who feel it is their place to belittle or berate another for being less than outwardly perfect, or of a different race, or an immigrant. That is my nature and quite frankly I think it's the perfectly human thing to do. I think what you described is animalistic. I'm not an animal, I'm a man.

Well if the children need them,then they've got to deal with it. Like you said,bullies will find any excuse. I'm not putting braces on my child's teeth so she can be an easy target,I'll be putting them on her so later in life she won't be a target,and her teeth will look nicer;;

what do you have against people who were not born with perfect teeth and need orthodontic treatment to fix the problem. Some people can't eat and talk right becuase of their teeth and need braces.
Do you know how many times i've heard people being insulted for having crooked teeth? People are bullied for all kinds of different reasons

My braces were taken off a few years again, and I'm an adult. No one bothered me about them, but they are quite painful, especially for children.

It's better to let them have braces so they'll have straight teeth. Kids are just mean regardless, and will be as mean to a kid with crooked teeth as to one with braces. I had them as a kid and never had trouble. To us braces meant that your parents had the money to get them for you.

Good point.
Their bullying argument is not only stale but it is simply dumb as well.
"People shouldn't have cars because they get stolen".
Exact same type of reasoning.

Yes. I don't know of any kids that get bullied for having braces. In the long run those kids will have the better teeth the the bullies. And please learn to spell.
