Not sure if I understand your question but will give it a try. If you are speaking of natural gas, you need a grill that is set up for that type gas. propane grill have smaller holes in the burners. The regulator is also different or would need to be adjusted for natural gas if it is propane type. Some regulators can be adjusted by flipping over a disc inside them.

Im guessing you meen a specific type of gas line for your BBQ. Yes the line must be copper or rubber ment for Gas usage. Good luck
