You bet wrong boy. I've never called anyone gay for a dis. That's a total insult as it is insinuating that being gay isn't right and I don't feel that way.
Anyone who is a responsible adult should have the right to adopt.
If straight people would stop being so mental about gay couples adopting kids then it wouldn't be a problem.
Don't you think it's human nature to be gay as humans are gay? So humans do have a desire to have children, so how is it going against human nature?

Kids will be bullied over anything, there was a study that showed that kids raised in same-sex homes are psychologically no different from those raised by straights. The church in the UK would rather use kids as a blackmail tool then actually care so the church isn't a good example, as being gay isn;t a choice that clap-trap is wrong and bigoted.

I think it's perfectly acceptable for Gay couples to adopt.

If you think about it, it's better for our world to have Gay couples adopt instead of having all these straight couples popping out children left and right and not being able to support them.

People that use the excuse "homosexuality is wrong because they can't create babies" should really think about all the children that have been abandoned by their mothers and the fact that we are already waaaaay too over populated.

What would you rather have, a child who's alone without a family in an adoption center, or a child who gets a loving family that has to deal with a little criticism as they grow up?

I feel that anyone should be able to adopt if they are considered "fit parents" and can provide a home and care for the child. I'm gonna one up and say that I feel that gays deserve the same rights as anyone else. Being gay is still not socially acceptable and it probably won't be for a while, just like Inter-Racial couples weren't welcome back in the day. And kids are cruel but that's life. We've all gone through it or done something to someone else. It's just something the parents have to think about when they adopt and how to make the kid understand the situation. Holler...

So because straight people don't use protection and have a child, they are more fit parents than us because we can't have oops babies... Or those moms who drink, smoke, do drugs while pregnant, she's a more fit parent than a homosexual. Or the dad who gets drunk and beats his wife and children, much more suited to be a parent than someone who is homosexual. There are crappy heterosexual parents all over the place.

When homosexuals commit to want to have children, bless them, they are opening their house, their lives, their resources, everything to someone who could be a total stranger to them! Why shouldn't homosexuals be allowed to adopt? Because of bulling, like you've stated. If we didn't do anything because of fear from bulling. We would all just stay at home with the blinds drawn and the doors locked. Bullying happens, who cares? Everyone has gotten picked on for something and then you grow up...

Morally - no.

Legally - well, on one hand, I'd rather see a child with a gay couple who provides all of the physical, emotional, spiritual needs and a secure home environment as opposed to seeing that child with a traditional couple or single parent in an abusive / neglectful home environment. I happen to have a gay friend who adopted a child with his partner. They are extremely good parents and providers. But I agree with your remark about the situation giving some people reason to bully the child. This hasn't happened yet of course, because the boy is only 4 years old. But unless they plan to home-school him, I believe it will be a problem later... kids can be REALLY cruel sometimes.

I am constantly hearing teenagers and young adults call people "gay" as a dis. I think it's sad. God loves us ALL - (love the sinner, hate the sin - ya know?) As a matter of fact, I heard on the news this morning that a 12 year old girl is being sued for saying "that's so GAY" in a negative way.

What about the kid? He or She gets a home, clothed, well feed, medical care, and love. OR He or she continues to live without parent in an orphaige, in some cases oversea starving in extrem poverty.
Just b/c a person is gay doesnt mean they cant raise a physically and mentally well child just as well as a straight couple.
Kids get bullied thats just a fact of life. Humans are mean, thats a fact of life.

Look at racism, many people of the baby boomer gen are very racist with each generation it gets less and less. To the point today mix couples are normal. It will be the same with the "fear" of gayness.

Absolutely they should be able to. Every child deserves to be in a loving home. There are plenty of children in the system needing homes. My roomate has two dads, she hasn't had any excess bullying about it. If a child is in an environment that allows bulling to occur, it won't matter if the child's parents are gay or straight, bullying will happen.

Your bullying argument is pretty weak: Kids would get bullied if their parents were of mixed race, so does that mean mixed races shouldn't have kids? What if your parents are fat?

Anyway, parentless kids is against human nature. Although it wouldn't necessarily be considered "ideal", it's better than no parents at all and, by the way, it's also better than heterosexual parents with no involvement at all. The key word here is "involvement." I don't have the statistics at my fingertips, but I believe it's been proven that the children of gay couples are just as mentally sound as those from heterosexual families.

There are a gazillion things worse that a kid having gay parents.

I agree that they might be teased and bullied, but then so are many of us who don't have gay parents. Bullies will find something about a kid to bully regardless.

I read a story in "Parents Magazine" about this Black 2-year-old who was abandoned in the subway. After several hours of being alone in his stroller, a gay man found him and reported it to the authorities. He and his partner became the kids foster parents and later adopted him. Some of these "christians" wrote the magazine outraged that it would print such a horrible story! I cannot believe that these people think that of that entire story, the gays adopting this kid was the worst of it. It's shocking to me that people would think that way.
