I'm an 21 year old Asian woman without an eyelid crease, how do I know where on my eye to put makeup onto? With other women they seem to just put it on their crease (or under the fold of skin) but I don't have that. How do I know where too high up on my eyelid is or where it's too far down? How should Asian women wear makeup?

I don't want to look like a drag queen and cover my entire lid...I'd like it to look somewhat natural....lol

I'm Asian too and prefer to wear a soft, sheer eye shadow all over my eye lid. I close my eye & lightly sweep it all over the the part of the lid that covers my eye ball then gradually feather it out towards the brow bone so there's no harsh line and it seems to fade gradually. The key is choosing soft, sheer colors and using powder shadow that is very finely milled.

If I want to contour my eyes a bit. I use a slightly darker shade of the same main color & create a subtle horizontal "v" starting at the last third of my upper lid between the brow bone and my eye ball. The ">" ends at the outer corner of my eye and fades gradually.

Then I curl my lashes & apply mascara.

If I wear eyeliner, I wear it tight against my upper lash line only.

Well you are lucky to have beautiful asian eyes. You can "create" a crease with shadow but why ruin a perfectly beautiful eye shape? The key to enhancing asian eyes without westernizing them is to radiate the color. Almost like you are drawing a rainbow of color on the eye that gradually gets lighter. Pick a color you want to wear. Pick three shade levels of that color. you want a dark, a medium, and a light. Apply the dark near your lash line in a thin line. Now apply the medium right above that in a thin line. Above that do the light color. Now blend them all together with a clean shadow brush. you are graduating that color upwards from darkest to lightest. Line the eyes with thin eyeliner. Try to make the eyeliner thin and almost directly ontop of the eyelashes. If you have trouble doing that then try and line underneath the top lashes pressing the liner inter the individaul lash hairs. You are just trying to make your lashline look thicker you don't want to create a really thick eyeliner because it'll make asian eyes look droopy. Curl your lashes and add a little bit of shimmer in the inner corners of the eye and right under your eyebrow and you have a pretty soft look that accents your beautiful eye shape.

Like the other people have said, Asians have really beautiful eyes, and a beautiful eye shape.

My eyelids are extremely small, so I wear a kind of 'eyeshadow keeper'. It helps your eyeshadow stay on and it looks fresh as you did when you put it on.

All you have to do is put a little dab on your finger, then sweep it over your lid. Then, just apply your regular eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner if you wear it.

You should try shadow's that neutral such as dark browns and such.. Try and get an eyeshadow Palette for hazel eyes.( You don't have to have hazel eyes, The colors in Hazel usually work good for lighter women of color) :) Good Luck :P

I'm not asian, but I have similar eye shape. You have what is called a "flat surface" eye.

I would suggest going to a salon or look at photos on the internet of other asian women and see how they do it.
