Now that he is not allowed to go and fight. I think it is probably the right decision, because it would endanger both him and the other soldiers with him, but it must be so frustrating for him to be told he can't go and do what he has trained for.
Do you agree?

I agree with what you have said. I wonder what he will do now. However he appears to be made of stern stuff and will take it on the chin like the man he is.

Imagine when you are 2nd in line to the throne your life is not your own and what ever choices you make for yourself they will always be overuled.

And people put the Royal family down though not me I do not envy them one little bit..

Wouldn't it be great if our royality were allowed to work and walk amongst us like other royal members do in their other countries.

Good luck Harry and do not too down hearted. You could always become an ambassador for Save the Children when you have served your time in the army.

Good question by the way.

He joined the army and should be allowed to go and do the duty he signed on to do. He wanted to go and should have been allowed to do so regardless. I certainly don't feel sorry for him, though. Why would I? The guy is wealthy and has never done an honest day's work! Even if something happened to Harry, William is there to assume the throne. And even if something happened to him, someone else is there to assume the throne. It's not like the royals are really vital to Britain's survival. They are not. Just figureheads that use up prodigious amounts of working people's taxes, etc. To be honest, though, neither we nor Britain has any business being in Iraq. End the thing now!

I totally agree. The poor guy has been second fiddle in his family life & not can't even go & do the job he has been trained to do. I cannot see how he can justify remaining in the army now. Its like being a steeplejack that cant go up chimneys because he's scared of heights. All that training going to waste. Poor Guy!
I like Harry better than William because he seems more like a "regular" guy. He likes his pint & horsing around with his mates & isn't afraid of hard work. William, in comparison, is a bit bland & boring.

I feel he knew it all along yet wanted to honestly support his mates. Princess Diana taught those boys the real life and he seems to have taken to those lessons well. I applaud his efforts. Feel sorry, somewhat but he knows his role in life. He just can not take these kind of risks. Even if he wants to. Andrew flying a helicopter does not come close to on the ground engagements in war he would be exposed to. He can still rally and motivate the troops and play an active behind the scene role. He has also devoted himself to causes that would make his Mum proud.

Yep totally agree, why in this day and age is one person exempt from doing what he wants to do. Imagine the scene, Harry captures a ajor insurgent leader leading to the end of the fighting in Iraq and goes back to Blighty where Granny gives him the VC!Hooray Hooray

What is he going to do now, no soldier will want to serve under him(He wont be there in the thick of it)

So why given that he joined during the current probs, was he allowed to join bloody stupid if you ask me!!

In a way I do too.

This decision effectively ends his military career. In what unit will he be able to command respect now? He may well end up resigning his commission.

But I'm not too sorry for him. Harry is a Prince of the House of Windsor, third in line to the throne. He'll find something else to do with his life.

I feel that he should have known what he was going to get in to. He is royal, and just because of that fact, He and his fellow soldiers will be targeted, because the terrorists over there will want to attack someone with the highest profile they can get at, seeing as it would give them major publicity and further their cause. By being in combat he would endanger his fellows and might be killed, which would demoralize Britains troops over there.
I'm not agreeing with the war, but what we start, we have to finish

Harry should never have been allowed to have a career in the army because it was obvious that he would never be able to go to war.
To Michael ...who wonders why Harry can't possibly be allowed to go to Iraq. If he was kidnapped then the captures would hold our country seriously to ransom. They could demand anything... the sky's the limit. Billions of pounds or an atom bomb in return for Harry. It would be serious stuff... very scary.

Why? Cause it's the only job he would probably have been able to do? He doesn't have the intelligence for much else!

He's probably secretly glad he's not going, but he can't come out and say that now, can he?! Plenty more people out there to feel sorry for other than him!!

Feel sorry for the Citizens of britian, who pay hard taxes so they can keep a monarch that has NO POWER, so they can live the life of priviledge, no jobs, clothes, money that they didn't earn, private jets, cars, women, These wastes of sperm are living the Liberal Dream baby. You join the Military, you sign a contract and make a commitment to defend in War and peace time, no expections
