No. The world is a sphere.
The world is middle aged.
There have been religious groups that have said the end of the world is nigh for thousands of years. They have always been wrong, they are still wrong, and will continue to be so.
Mankind may well be extinct before the world gets close to ending, or he may last a bit longer no one knows.
Four to five billion years is along time, and lots of things can happen, none of us alive today will make it through to the end.

I shall ask you a question regarding your question!
Do you mean 'Is the end of the world near in a geography term or in a spiritual term?
My answers are as follows!
For Geograghy I would say that you could nether get to the end of the earth, but you are always at the end of the earth as its round!
Then my answer spiritual term= no one knows when the earth will be, as only God knows that! But & there is a but. the end of the earth could be tonight or tomorrow as you do not know when you are going to kick the bucket (die), and when that happens that is the end of your world!

I believe so. If your a Bible reader you will read what it says in revelations and others about what you will start seeing near the end. It makes alot of sense and i feel it to be close whether it be in 10 yrs or in a couple or a few months from now. He is ready to come back!

Nobody truly know's that question. But I think if you look around at the world, our attitude, the things we do. The global warming issue effecting the entire world. Then poke your head in the Bible, Revelations to be exact, and you can even see similarities.
I believe it all has to get much worse. Before God will intervene.

Well entirely depends what aspect you are talking about.
Scientifically we still have 4.5 billion years till the sun expands and it is going to be to hot to live on earth
2. Socially , i think it is really near. All the pollution and war; everything is going to be wiped out.
