You can't. Not unless you have another number to compare it to. A percent is a ratio. You need two numbers for a ratio.

You can only turn it into a percentage it it's 750 out of something.
So if it's 750 out of a 1000 then it's 75%, if it's 750 out of 1500 it's 50%, etc.
arguably however, 750 on it's own its100% (750 out of 750)

In to a percentage of WHAT?
750 as a percentage of ..........?
percentage MEANS of a hundred
that is why the symbol is %
Per hundred
750 as a percentage of 1000 is
750/1000 = 0 .75 of a HUNDRED
( it's .75 of ONE, but 75 of a hundred )
or 750/1000 X 100 = 0 .75 X 100 = 75 %
seventy five per every hundred

To the gentleman who thinks the answer is 75000%:
0.01 is 1% OF ONE and only of one. It's not 1% of 34, 654.2, 65000, etc etc.
A percentage is not an absolute. It is a way of expressing the relationship between two numbers.
If the question is "what is 750 as a percentage of 1" then you're correct. But only then.

To find or convert a number to percentages, you do the following:
750/x * 100
Where x is the total amount.
Hope this helps.

It all depends, 750 is 75% of 1000
and or 3/4, (three quarters) of 1000.

Depends what it is out of.
Divide 750 by whatever it is out of (e.g. 1000), and then multiply by 100.
e.g. 750 / 1000 = 0.75
0.75 x 100 = 75%
Hope that helps!

i am surprised to find so many different answers to this simple question of class VI standard. The asker is sure to get confused after going through the answers.
let me put some more arguments in favour of my answer
1% is written in decimal fraction as 0.01
Therefore 0.01=1%
What is 0.10 in percentage? It is 10%
What is 1 or 1.00 in percentage? it is 100%
what is 75 in percentage? It must be 7500%
And 750 in percentage?It is 75000%
I challenge everybody, specially the gentleman, who has marked my answer as a bad one to prove my answer wrong and I shall immediately surrender my 820 or so best answers and start afresh in Yahoo Answers
