Today at my appointment the doctor said I was 1 cm dialated and that my cervix is very ripe. Im 36 weeks. Does this mean labour is close? and is there anything i could do to speed it up?

I hate to agree with everyone else, but you never know when it's going to happen. It could be minutes, hours, days, or WEEKS away.

The plus side is that you won't be pregnant for too much longer. :)

Getting closer, but the baby is going to come when its ready...probably still a few weeks out. Do a lot of walking, and yes, having sex can actually start labor when you are this close.

I went from 0 cm to 3 in an afternoon , all people is different . whilst your physique is waiting you will comprehend, in the experience that your attempting to dilated quicker you are able to stroll , do squats , i moped the flooring and went into hard paintings 4 hours later lol sturdy success!

You still have a while to go. Ive been dilated to a 2 for 3 weeks now. baby will come when hes ready.

I was 100% effaced and dialiated to 3, 7 days before I had my daughter. It could be hours, days or a couple of weeks.

There is no way to say when it is going to happen, but forsure I would have the bags ready to go. Good luck!! :)

you can talk to your doc and ask him to induce you but unless your under a doctors care it's never a good idea to try to cause it yourself. just be patient and many blessings to you and your baby :)
