That probably referrs to the time your Professors are in their office, which is only a few hours a day. Professors are not like high school teachers. Full time ones only teach like 30 or so hours a week. Sometimes less. Those that don't do research (non science ones) go to their office inbetween classes and THAT is called OFFICE hours and it varies for each teacher and THAT is the ONLY time you can sit down and talk with them on issues, other than grabbing them before or after class to ask a simple question. But if you want them, for example, to go over your class selection in your major and see what they think of your game plan, that is done wtih Office Hours. They will tell you their office hours or it will be posted. Now the general SCHOOL office is probably open 8-5. That's administration. Maybe it's open 7-6 even! That's if you want to ask something about fees or your transcripts.
