Jews were persecuted in Germany from 1933 onwards when Hitler became Chancellor. The persecution continued as Germany occupied France, Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Greece etc. It is not the case of America stepping in. The Allies took 4 years to defeat Germany and stop the holocaust.

Dan the Man:
With History Teachers giving A's away like yours.. no wonder our country is going to crap.
USA Never declared war on Germany. Germany Declared War on the USA. at that was AFTER USA declared war on Japan, and that was after the attack on Pearl Harbor, which was over 2 years after Germany invaded Poland.
Hard to believe you got an A for that kind of sloppy learning.

Austria and Czechaslovakia.
The Austrians were quite happy at the time to merge with Germany and welcomed the Germans with open arms.
The Czechs weren't so happy, but recognized the futility of opposition and accepted their fate.
The annexing of Czechaslovakia was the event that led to the infamous appeasement policy by Chamblerlain. The British Prime Minister got Hitler to sign a pact stating that he would seek no further expansion. But as history shows, he really had no intentions of honoring that pact.
