Light blue might seem alittle too cheerful... Rule of thumb, any bright color you'd wear to a picnic, don't wear to a funeral. Don't wear something that reminds you of spring, or looks like a garden. But no, you don't have to wear all black, so long as it's respectful and doesn't look like you're having a picnic or party or going to the beach, you're good.

The tradition to wear all black to a funeral has faded with time. Altough you can still wear all black if you wish, you can also wear muted colors like blue, gray, white, dark purple. Just be conservitive and respectful in your choice of clothes and you will be fine.

Nah. Things have changed a bit now. I went to a funeral and people wore whatever the heck they wanted to. I say wear whatever you feel comfy in as long as you don't look like you're going to a club or something. You should be fine. Besides, people need to focus more on why they're there and not on what people there have on.

No. The most important thing is that you are there. What you have planned would be just fine. The last couple of funerals I had to go to...I wore black slacks, black shoes and a pale pink top. Just dress nice and be there!
So sorry for your loss!

no, you dont have to, i usually wear bright colors to celebrate the persons life, the good memories i have about that particular person=) what you are wearing should be fine, but what does the light blue shirt look like? and what shoes? i tend to always wear heels or a nice pair of flats, never gym shoes and leisure wear.

No, you don't. It is what ppl have just accustomed to wear. Some beleive that it is inappropriate to wear bright colors. I watched a talk show were a lady said that her father requested that black was not worn b/c he was a very outgoing person who loved life. He was vibrant and bright-eyed and he wanted them to wear clothes that symbolized his life. She, along with a few others, did just that. She was ridiculed about it at first. But others realized that what you wore didn't matter. It is about the life of the person you loved!!!

No, you don't have to wear all black. I wore dark green to my grandma's. As long as you look formal and appreciate how how solemn the occasion is, anything can go. Just not bright white dress or pants. Keep the colors dark.

You don't have to wear black but generally that is what you wear, usually black pants or a black shirt, you don't have to wear all black. As long as you dress nicely to show respect is what matters.
