we won't. the government has lost touch with the man in the street.
they (the government) cry foul about the brain drain, and yet propose stricter bee legislation.
they moan how bad crime is, and when private companies want to do something, they say no.
they moan about unemployment and poverty, yet the top ten richest black south africans (all anc members) have a combined wealth of 22% of anual sa gdp.
they moan that black farmers need a chance, buy farms for way less than market value from white farmers, and give them to the black farmers. 86% of these farms are non-functional within one year.
the people moan about crime and our president says we are racist.
please! if south africa is the "beacon of democracy" in africa, then i'll eat pork for a year.

The government BENEFITS from the crime here, so why would they try to STOP it??
I had a debate with a member of the ANC a few years ago. He says they'll never bring in the death penalty, as they would lose too many comrades. Isn't THAT a frightening thought??
I just wonder how the hell our government gets away with calling themselves a "democracy" when they won't give the people what they want. When was the last time we had a referendum?? Think on that...
EDIT: Phoneguy955 - look what time and generations did for Zimbabwe. Wake up bru - SA's gonna head the same way!!
EDIT: Zim - The ANC gets it's voters from the rest of Africa. It's a case of: Just come in, we'll give you an ID book in exchange for your vote.
If we didn't have the illegals streaming accross our borders, we wouldn't have the violent crime levels. It's Zimbabweans and Nigerians committing these atrocities, not South Africans!!

Denial is any ones worst enemy
The South African government will never listen they only time when their eyes will maybe open is when the 2010 is taken away or 2010 is a complete disaster but then again they will find a way to blame it on apartheid
So in the end - they will never
Maybe one of their children should get killed in a hi-jack or for a cellphone, this may sound harsh but im out of ideas

It seems the only viable way is to vote them out of power, but how likely is that with all the sentimentality surrounding the ANC? The struggle is OVER, we won, lets move on please!
Maybe i should get a nice deep tan, learn some xhosa and apply for membership, so i can change the GP from the inside out. Will i be listened to? Probably not.
Failing that, maybe we should invite all MPs to YA so they can see for themselves what true South Africans are saying...

But is the government not trying to sort out violent crime? I don't think so. I don't think there is any ruling political party that would fold its arms when the nation is being wiped out by crime. They need voters, and can't afford losing them through crime.
I believe the government is listening and they are acting. They might not be effective at this point (which I deny) but fact is - they are taking steps to fob violent crime in the country!

Funny - when the National Party was presiding over a working first world country, the world was up in arms about their supposed mistreatment of the black majority.
Now that that majority's representatives - the Communist thugs of the ANC - are allowing savagery of every hue to perpetuate against all its citizens, the silence is quite deafening.
