With the senate shooting down a bill to stop funding by March 2008 I cannot help but see the Democrats win this previous fall as a dud. Whats the purpose of having a congress that wants change and is in tune with what the American people want when nothing is going to get done. I see everyday on the news and internet and on the radio that so many people have died from bombings, suicides, attacks, ect. I think to myself-after all of our sacrifices and years of being over there, are we that much better off than when we started? How much longer will the wishes of American people and demands be ignored for a interests of a select few?

The select few = very powerful people. You can't just go around making accusations that they do not represent the American public. As with everything else, it will all come out in the wash; But it will take time.

It's not for the interests of a select few, it is for the security of all Americans. The only change Congress wants is a Democrat in the White House and more power to tax us to death.
When you see the daily death count on the news, you hear something like "two more soldiers were killed in Iraq today", but if you continue to listen you probably hear things like "three people were found murdered in Chicago today" "Nine people died when a bus went off the highway this morning". Let's put things in perspective. 3200 SOLDIERS died in 4 years. That's 800 per year. We have over 1000 deaths in construction every year. Should we stop all construction in this country? Chicago had 466 murders last year. That's just ONE city. just under 3000 innocent men, women and children were killed in a matter of a couple of hours on 9/11. They didn't have a choice. Our soldiers are grown men and women(not children as some Democrats would have you believe) who made a CHOICE to join the VOLUNTEER armed forces. We owe them and their families a GREAT debt of gratitude. Since 9/11 no successful terrorist attacks have occurred on our soil. I'd heard Democrats asking if we felt any safer than we did before 9/11, during the 2004 campaign. The problem is we may have felt safe before 9/11, but that safety was just an illusion. In fact that was probably what made us so vulnerable to attack. We have to stop taking our freedom for granted and thank God or who or whatever you want to thank for this great country and the freedom we have here.
