Actually, when it's broken down, the Republicans in Congress have the lower percentages and the Democrats come out ahead of both the Republicans and George Bush:

I often wonder about "polls" and "statistics". Generally I feel that they are a bunch of Huey, primarily because every time someone says X% of Americans feel, believe, approve, disapprove or whatever, I search my memory (Not easy as i get older) and don't ever recall being asked the question that they have an answer for. I don't care how "accurate" a poll is advertised, you'll always have that "Human" factor. If I want to conduct a poll and have it say that 80% of Americans disapprove of the war, I'll ask 1,000 people at UC Berkley and if I want the answer reversed, I'll poll 1,000 people in Republican strongholds.
So, basically I'm not sure if Gallup is determining public opinion or driving public opinion. Here's a solution, don't worry about what Gallup says, do your homework and vote your conscience in the next election.

I think that when they were elected, that the nation clearly spoke with wanting this war in Iraq over. Due to whatever reasons, presidential veto as well, the Congress has been unable to get this done. Most of the nation is sick to death of Bush riding roughshod over what the people want. The people have no voice with Bush, he does not care what they want or he would not call himself the decider. People are tired of inaction from this Congress and tired of this war from this President. For the good of the nation, Bush needs impeachment because he is out of touch with reality and has totally forgotten that he works FOR the people of this country and not for Halliburton. This is not a dictatorship no matter what he and Cheney say otherwise. He too, is accountable for his actions.

Pretty damn pathetic when the President's approval rating is 33% and the GOP crows. And 29% for congress is poor. Where the hell are the adults in this government?

That's mostly because the republicans approval rating in Congress hovers around 20%. They are dragging the overall rating down.

We kicked the Democrats out of Congress in 1994 for a reason. What in Hades made people think they had changed any?

i don't care for polls but it's weird that the new congress was voted in as a sign that the people want change. what are people unsatisfied with? maybe the way congress is playing politics instead of taking care of business. but politics is their business.

It means that even though Bush seems to be really hated in this country, he is still not hated as much as congress.

The right-wing Slander Machine is very effective.
Plus the people want the Democrats to END THE WAR.
