I can think of eight:

1) Hit
2) Walk
3) Reach by error
4) Fielder's choice
5) Dropped third strike (passed ball or wild pitch)
6) Hit by pitch
7) Catcher interference
8) Umpire interference

I'd also point out that runner's interference should not be included, as the batter is given a hit in that situation.

Since you asked how many ways a 'player' can reach base, the answer is 9. Had you asked how many ways a 'batter' can reach base, the answer would be 8.

1 - Base Hit
2 - Fielder's Error
3 - Base on Balls
4 - Hit by Pitch
5 - Dropped 3rd Strike (including a Wild Pitch, or a Passed Ball)
6 - Fielder's Choice
7 - Catcher's Interference
8 - Catcher's Balk
9 - Inserted as a Pinch Runner

-If a player reaches on a double play, it's scored as a fielder's choice.
-A batter cannot reach on a sacrifice, a batter can be credited with a sacrifice while also reaching base as a result of a fielder's choice or a fielder's error.
-A player does not reach base as a result of runners interference, he is usually called out, but sometimes it is ruled a double play and the batter reaches first. Officially, again, this is scored as a fielder's choice.
-A dropped 3rd strike results in the batter reaching first base, but there are not different rules governing passed balls and wild pitches. Those actions will be given different defensive scores, but offensively it looks the same: Strikeout, batter safe at first.

The correct answer is 8.

A sacrifice implies that the batter does not reach first in order to advance a runner. If he does reach first, it's not a sacrifice.
A double play (that does not involve the batter) would be a fielder's choice.
Wild pitch on third strike or dropped 3rd strike are both considered passed balls.

Most people would say 8. I think this answer, which states 11, is more accurate and open-ended:

1. hit
2. base on balls/walk
3. hit by pitch
4. reach on an error
5. catcher's interference
6. passed ball on strike 3
7. wild pitch on strike 3
8. sacrifice
9. double play
10. fielder's choice
11. runner interference (certain situations)

there are a thousand possible ways to get to first base a slap bunt as a good choice or a drob on the third strike to take off running getting hit with the ball or walking!

Base on balls, hit by pitch, drop third, single (double, triple, HR, ground rule double, bunt, sac bunt, bunt for a hit, etc.), error. I know I am forgetting something though.

Interference.. how did I forget that
