Since the word of God is interpreted and changed from generation to generation to suit the needs of the times how can we vote for anyone who holds to delusional beliefs .
People just 80 years ago felt it was wrong to operate on a mans heart as this was thought to be the vessel for his soul . With religion just being a populist set of beliefs that changes from decade to decade how can we be sure we know what a candidate will do when elected .

Religion has always been in favor of one man controlling another and thus freedom of thought and choice are not a component of your life .

They're not nuts. A politician is smart to pretend to belong to a religion even if he doesn't believe at all, since the American people will reject a non-religious person. One poll disclosed that Americans would vote for a Muslim before an Atheist.

I think you've got a very distorted picture of what religion is. I am not as religious a person as I used to be(I still have a lot of questions I need to find answers for), but some of the strongest people I know are religious. Also we are not born to serve God and our leaders without question. I am proof of that. I constantly have questions and I haven't been banned or excommunicated. I am welcomed back with open arms. I'm not saying that you shouldn't question their motivations for doing something. I'm saying listen to them and decide if you believe they can make the decisions you agree with. It's called making an informed decision.

Like you, I am baffled by the religious frenzy. Here we are, debating an issue in front of the American public who watch The Simpson's,and care what Paris Hilton does"I go to church",it's about as easy to say as,I love you.You can always tell a real man of faith,Jimmy Carter,he's out building houses for the poor, not for any political reasons, just because. What God wants, and what man wants, always seems to be in disconnect when it comes to Politics.

The fact is its a political reality. If you don't have a tie to some religion you're not going to get enough money to get elected.

Even Hitler played to the fears of homosexuality of the churches of his day to get rid of his rivals.

Its a sad fact that church folks are single issue voters - if the church they belong to says to vote for a candidate - they do no matter if who they're voting for is destructive for the rest of the country, or would steal the food out of their children's mouths or take the cash out their pockets to give to already rich people. They have a totally blind allegiance to minsters who belive God tells them to amass wealth for themselves.

Whats best for a church is not always the best for everyone but they don't care because their (human) minsters tell them not to

Therefore the only way to get that block of voters is to cater to them

Everyone holds a religious view and can be put into a "group". Even if you don't believe in religion, you are part of that "group" that doesn't believe in religion. Being religious doesn't make you nuts either.

I think you are the "nutty" one. Are we watching the same debates. There religious nature of the candidates is broader than it has ever been. They range from No religion to liberal religion to conservative religion.

Sounds to me like you are a Chistiphobe.

Are you nuts for not believing?

Today We are United... Is this all you do? I'm guessing that this is probably the range of music you listen to and is either age appropriate or in your maturity range.

They are not crazy. Do you really think an atheist could be elected in this country? No way.

I always worry when people serve a religious agenda. You can never tell what they're going to do in the name of their god.

All around the mulberry george bush,
The monkey conservative chased the weasel,
The monkey conservative thought 'twas all in fun
Pop! Goes the weasel.

Not a tax Penny for a spool of thread for a helpless old man
Not a tax Penny for a needle for a helpless old woman
That's the way the conservative money and moral goes.
Pop goes the weasel!
