I cheat.. I use an IP cam which runs independantly of any OS.. that way I am not stuck with a particular version of Windows etc and it works with Mac or linux just as well.

Just go to a driver site and get the vista driver for your product.
or
get a logitech webcam with vista support

well my loptop has its webcam already installed in it. and when i bought the loptop, its already on vista. work fine with me. try HP webcams.

i have a trust spacecam portable (which clips on to laptops), a logitech webcam (dunno which model, it were £20 from tesco), and i have a builtin webcam, which is gr8t, its 1.3 megapixel and came with my vista laptop
all work on vista

I have an INTEL USB camera from the thrift store and it works great !
