i was given the most prestigious encounter in my sober life when i was selected to speak at the 2000 AA world conference in Minneapolis, MN . The crowd was somewhere around 53,000 or so. It was an electric experience to say the least. Up to that point in time my usual audience was between 30 and 1500 people, depending on the seminar, gathering, etc.
i have been in front of audiences since the 1st grade and as a result i don't get the gitters but at the beginning of my presentation i feel a lack of energy until it comes to me from the Most High and then it just flows effortlessly and i don't need notes to follow; it's almost as if i am supplied with what to deliver. It truly is an awesome life.

I had to speak to a crowed of three thousand one day on the modern threats of chemical warfare to a packed house of Army brass, politicians and officials. I have a stuttering problem. That was a fun hour and a half. I got the message across and many of my points were taken home.

If I can do it, anyone can. All you have to do is learn to conquer fear.

I'm always nervous beforehand, but that's normal for most people. When I get up front, the nervousness goes away. Speaking in front of a lot of people, even a full house, is almost a surreal experience for me. I picture them in my mind as a huge painting. Good luck if this is in your future. It's actually harder for me to speak in front of smaller groups.

I'm great now but I remember the first time I spoke, I was so nervous I couldn't stop my legs from shaking. Luckily I was behind a podium and no-one could see it.
