I have a new machine with Vista Home Basic pre-installed. When I loaded my copy of office everything works ok except for my Outlokk. I have configured the accounts for my POP-3 account as before but every time I go out of Outlook it loses the pasword. Yes, the tickbox is checked to 'save this password'. Is this a bug or problem or setting I don't knmow about in Vista?

Vista and older versions of "Outlook" seem to be having problems. Don't know if MS intends to repair this or not. You may want to switch to "Windows Mail" until it's repaired. Vista has only be available to PC users for about 4 months and it's still a bit buggy. It'll get fixed. How soon we forget how screwed up XP was. It took about a year and the first service pack to get it running right.

maybe a problem with the configuration or installation.

delete all the email accounts, goto control panel and repair office, restart and reconfigure office.

it may work, it may not. i am usin office outlook 2003 for my email and i am on vista home premium, but it works fine, and always has, even within the network mail.

may be a home basic problem, but i've never had a problem.

Vista is a pile of crap isn't it? Hardly anything works. Let's hope they fix it before I decide to switch to Linux instead.

Didn't you know? Vista's got the same technology that Apple Macs had over 7 years ago!
