what do you mean 'alphabetical order'?

floppy drives are (a:) (b:)
hard drives are usually (c:) and (d:) if you have an extra hard drive
cd-roms usually start at (d:) and so on (if you have extra hard drives) if thats what you wanted to know!!!

for example, on your computer if you have a floppy drive, 2 hard drives, a cd-rom, dvd-rom, mp3 and so on...

on 'my computer' it would show:
FLOPPY (A:)
HDD1 (C:)
HDD2 (D:)
CD-ROM (E:)
DVD-ROM (F:)
MP3 (G:)

Do you mean a CD-Rom that does not form part of the boot sequence? I don't have a floppy drive so C/D are a hard drive.
Drive E is CD/DVD - RW and F to I inclusive are Removable Disks and J is my external hard drive. Click on my computer this will provide basic information, if you right click on any drive symbol and choose properties it will provide some more information.
