It is not illegal anywhere in the United States. It is freedom of speech. I fly a Confederate Flag with pride. My Southern Heritage IS NOT something that I am ashamed of. The Civil War was a war of ideals and States Rights. To those who say it was a war about slavery issues I recommend that you study your history. Slavery was not an issue until later in the war. Before I start to get a lot of thumbs down let me explain that I am not for slavery, it was the way that things were done then. I dont hate the flag but at the same time I dont care for it either. It depends on the way you are trying to express yourself. But to answer your question, no its not illegal as long as the flag is not obstrucing your view or the view of others. But dont be wowed if they stop you and ask you to take it down. It can be a very defensive flag to some. Which can produce a reaction from some. good luck with your decision.

as long as it doesn't obscure your vision, then no. if it does, then a cop could be a dick about it. he still could depending on his attitude towards the flag. it is part of your first amendment right to free speech. so fly it proudly.

maybe, but even if it is, it might be also illegal to fly those folk who police those folk who police those folk who fly rebel flags, and either way: if it's a crime, they won't dare make you feel like a naked ignorant profane lazy kid before god and congress

After all "peace protesters" wave flags of Hamas, PLO, or countries who are declared enemies of the US - and that is legal.
