Not at all. They made their choice knowing the gas mileage. They don't care when it's only the environment being harmed and oil supplies being depleted. Maybe this will finally wake them up.

Um, NO WAY!!!! It is their fault for getting a SUV to drive in town anyway. If you need, I mean need, a big honking vehicle get a deisel truck to drive off road. It's easier on the environment. But I took gas costs into account when getting a car two years ago and bought a new car with good mileage. More room would be nice, but the lower gas bill is even better. As long as people keep buying those things and using gas like it's water then the price will just keep creeping up.

I bought an SUV back in Dec because its price was right.......after I'd had my Toyota Corolla for 2 yrs. I think I DID shed 3 tears the very first time I filled the tank. Ok, the 2nd time, too. In fact, I thought there was a hole in my gas tank somewhere and checked it out. But, as realization set in, I made it a point that I'd neeever whine about the price of gas.

Traded in my SUV in 2002 because of gas prices and what happened in 2001. Our dependence on oil caused the tragedy.

We all are dealing with the high cost of gas- the price isn't different depending on what you drive, so even if you don't have to fill up as often as a larger vehicle, you are still paying more when you do fill up. This price gouging is getting ridiculous! I find it hard to believe that it can be justified to raise gas prices .4 cents over night.

No, becuase when you buy a car, there is a big sticker in the window that says what kind of gas mileage that vehicle gets.
If they still buy the SUV after that, they deserve to pay.

No. Everyone I know who drives an SUV can afford to pay for the gas.

I don't feel sorry for them...they were the ones who had to have a gas guzzler to drive. My sister is a prime example...they just bought a Chevy Tahoe and she is always griping about how much it takes to fill the tank. Wa wa I say....you bought it knowing full well gas prices were already sky high.

I like and need my SUV. I don't whine about gas prices either. It would be nice if they would go down, but I can afford it either way.

Nope, they knew it going in.
I drive an Outlander, but my gas mileage is just as good as any 'regular' car (up to 28-30 mpg). I'm paying $30+ at the pumps - but you don't hear me whining about how unfair it is because i have a bigger vehicle.
