I am 17 weeks pregnant. I am allowed to eat a small, insignificant slice of M&S tangy lemon baked cheesecake...
lemons are good for the baby right?

the simplest is always the best, I think. I assume you know how to make the base crush some biscuits, mix with melted butter and press into your mould. I tried hobnobs recently, and they worked well, although digestives or ginger nuts are nice too. Take a 1 large tub of philadelphia and add the zest and juice of 1/2 lemon. Stir this in, then add icing sugar one teaspoon at a time, tasting after each until you reach your preferred level of sweetness. Personally I don't like it too sweet, so I only add a couple of spoonfulls, although it depends on the size of the lemon. Put this on top of the base, then chill for at least 1/2 hour before serving.

Don't worry, the only cheeses you should avoid during pregnancy are unpasteurised and mould-ripened ones so the soft cheese that cheesecakes are made with is fine. As a guide the advice is you avoid cheeses like:
- brie
- camembert
- stilton
- unpasteurised goats cheese, etc
Cheeses like cheddar, soft cheese, halloumi, feta and mozzarella are fine. This is because unpasteurised cheeses can be a risk of containing listeria which would cause severe food poisoning and be a risk to the unborn baby.
Enjoy your cheesecake!

Lemons are good, it's just all of those empty calories in the sugar and other things in that cheesecake that are not.
Enjoy a nice slice every so often, and watch what you eat otherwise.

Good grief if I was not allowed to eat cheesecake, I couldn't stand being pregnant. Go for it, honey! Enjoy it for me too. I may have to go to the store now.

Why would you not be allowed to eat cheesecake? Did I miss something on some " don't eat " list? LOL

Yes it is ok to eat but don't eat to much of it because it contains raw egg which pregnant people are supposed to avoid.
