I'm not asking for stars - merely wondered why more aren't given!

I try to remember to star each question I answer - it DOES make the asker feel like they've asked an answer-worthy question!

A balanced discretion should be maintained in all your actions, even while"starring questions!". Even if you are answering a question, in your discretion, it may not merit a star from you. I know that you are talking about keeping an "abundance mentality," as opposed to keeping a "scarcity mentality." In that sense I agree with you, but additionally suggest, that a "healthy balance," should also be maintained while applying "abundance mentality."
Y! stars are NOT meant for simply giving away; they are to be discretely awarded to questions that have adequate merit according to you. If you only answer those questions that have abundant merit (according to you), you may star them all. But if you simply distribute stars on a throw-away basis, it will diminish your own merit & value with regard to your ability for "starring questions."

Because people ask for them. It gets annoying.
If your question deserves a star, you're going to get them. No need to beg for stars.
