Keyboards are cheap. Just get another keyboard. The keys can be plucked off and cleaned. Most likely syrup has hardened between keys sticking them together.

Hopefully, the computer was turned off when this happened to avoid any electrical shorts. If so, there is something I've done successfully in the past but don't know if the trick still works. On older keyboards if you smoke (which I do) over time the keys would begin to "stick". The "fix" was to take a digital photo of the keyboard so you know where to put the keys back, and then gently pry up on the individual key caps with a small thin screwdriver. They were just a "press on" fit and not glued. Once you get the caps off, you can see the little parts that cause the keys to pop back up when you depress them. Do this at your own risk, but an Electrical Engineer friend of mine claims as long as the power is turned off, pure water doesn't hurt electrical switchgear, it's the minerals in water that corrode the contacts. I've seen him clean electrical gear using distilled water (from the supermarket) with a little rubbing alcohol mixed in (good cleaning agent and promotes evaporation), and save gummed up electrical things. If you have an expensive laptop and not a seperate keyboard which is inexpensive to replace, you might want to go to some place like Radio Shack first and buy a can of a product called "electrical contact cleaner". It's pretty "pricey" stuff, but it won't hurt anything electrical, and might also do the job. If the computer was running when the liquid hit it, all bets are off as it may have caused electrical shorts. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

You could try removing the keys and cleaning the keyboard but that probably won't do much good. I would replace the keyboard. They cost anywhere from $10 - $70, depending on what features you require. A standard keyboard should run you about $15.

As long as it is a standard desktop keyboard this will be easy. Just take a pen and wedge it under the keys that are not working. Push down on the pen and the key will pop off, don't worry it is not broken.
Now with the key off clean around the contact on the keyboard and possibly the bottom of the plastic key. When ready just place the plastic key back on top of the contact and push down until it pops back on. Then your good to go.

I had to fix a laptop, where one of the managers of my company had soaked with beer. It wasn't as bad as sodas...
but we did have to replace the keyboard. Soda should be worse than a beer, so you probably want to look at purchasing a new keyboard.
But before, take out the keyboard and see if you can wash it out. You can take out the buttons one by one. Probably all the sugar got stuck below, so try to clean it up.
If that fails, you should look into getting a new one.

First, take a picture of your keyboard so you know where to put the keys after disassembly...
Unlpug it, then pry off every key. Clean everything you can see, but DO NOT SUBMERGE IT!!! Let it dry for a few hours, then reassemble it. If it still won't work then you'll be needing a new keyboard.

It may clear up after a few days. Other than that, I'd reccommend buying a new keyboard. You can get them pretty cheap at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Max... Basically anywhere that sells computers has keyboards.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you have a dishwasher, stick the keyboard in there and let it wash. After it is finished, let it sit for a couple of days in a place where it can dry. It works!

i spilled beer on mine & the keys have been given sticky. i lifted off the keyboard casing and wiped sparkling it with a splash (no longer dripping) rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. purely be careful you do no longer crack the casing getting it off and be tender with the keys. i've got been given too aggressive w/my cleansing and ripped off the f key.
