Most Americans do not want to be bothered with politics, or policy. Can you blame them? They just want to go about their daily lives, and let someone else worry about it. Kind of explains how we got in our current predicament.
A government gone unchecked.

Bush's approval rating is oddly similar to congress's, which leads me to believe that; polls are an excellent indicator of politics in general.
At this time in US history the president is in a lose lose situation, but not much different than any of the other presidents in the past 60 years that were in office when a conflict of monumental nature has occurred. I would say we need to look at all the facts and not just whats happening at this moment..
Congress is so mixed up, it would take an yet another serious incident to pull the political mood back to a smooth consensus. While the executive branch is being slammed from all directions. It's no wonder the American public is so dissatisfied.
On top of everything, the polls only give a snap shot in response to loaded questions: Are you satisfied with American soldiers be killed in the Middle East? DUH! That question can be rolled into: Are you satisfied with the way President Bush is handling the war? After answering your obvious "no" to the first question, how can you be satisfied with the way Bush is handling the war.
As American citizens we need to start ferreting out the stupidness of politics and polls, and start looking for new answers, which means, new blood in our political arena.

If you have ever been polled,by phone,on political questions, you would know, how tricky, and sometimes complicated, their questions are. They ask you to answer on a scale, sometimes people get confused, and even nervous about answering.I'm surprised that Bush has even that high of a rating. Some people just think you should support a President,no matter how bad he is.Cheney is a background character,he's so obnoxious, even Bush looks good compared to him.

Are you saying that the 28% who support Bush are the same 28% that dont even know the VP's name? How stupid do you have to be to not know the V.P.'s name, especially a proactive, controversial, polarizing one like Dicky boy?
Oh wait, you might have something there.

He deserves the low rating. The link relates to the percentage of Americans who are uneducated in political matters.

LOL....and all of you were against him and saying so after 9/11 and during the build up to war with Iraq right? Because he was at 74% back then. It must be nice to be able to criticize when the going gets tough. Bush does not have that luxury so he takes the hits knowing that the other sides only answer is to cut funding. Good plan. Dem-O-French Party!! Surrender!!!

Ok, I'm not sure how this would make sense. Maybe you should re- read what you just wrote. I'm going to try and act like the people you are trying to portray. Here goes.
"I think that President Bush is doing a good job, but I don't know his name".
Makes about as much sense as your question.

Coincidence.
As for Bush's approval rating, it's much higher than he deserves. Even Ohlmert in Israel is in single digits and Bush is more incompetent and extreme. It jsut shows that religious fundamentalists don't care that his policies are disasters.
