HP like any other computer company has it's ups and downs. In the computer world - you get what you pay for. Don't buy anyone's low-end Laptop or PC for that matter.
You will notice that the low-end systems all use non-Intel CPUs. Why? It’s because they are cheap and won't last as long as a high-end CPU.
I own an HP PC and a Toshiba Laptop, both run great, but I paid a little more and got a much better computer (s)
Remember, "You get what you pay for"

If you wanna go high end and play games on it I suggest Falcon North West http://www.falcon-nw.com/ plus they look really nice. If you just wanna do normal work (Office stuff and Internet) Then HP is great. They are quality laptops and good support.

If you've got enough money for it, I would suggest an IBM, but, HP would be my next best choice.
