typical Pronger (lack of) Leadership. can't let his play speak, so he tries to fit in and will himself to be a leader w/ his neandrathal size and hits. unfortunately it cost his team. as usual. just like when he was given the C in St Louis, cuz they hoped he knew what it meant. and that he would grow into it. never did though. (no Chris, the C doesn't stand for your first name)

when you're supposed to anchor your team's power play and penalty kill, and instead you neglect to prevent shooting lanes that are almost as wide as the gaps between your teeth, it's a sign that you're over-rated. and out-smarted.

that hit really did not have the intended effect, cuz Holmstrom drove the knife in deeper w/ his assist afterwards. so actually, i wouldn't call it a dirty hit. Holmstrom seemed more than ok during his post-game interview when asked why the Ducks fell apart. He can take any fluff that Pronger dishes out. Pronger doesn't know his own strength. he didn't mean it to be dirty. he just knows one speed ... dumb. and that's how he plays. he continues to be exposed as an over-rated defensemen. people worship him because of his size. but the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

i say ... don't suspend Pronger. let him continue to make an idiot of himself. while Niedermayer was spending the rest of the game in the locker room, hopefully he had some ideas of what to tell Pronger on how to lead. Pronger can't handle too much info at once, so he wants the KISS principles of leadership. unfortunately, there are none. leadership is learned over time. and Pronger still doesn't have it. let him flounder.

oh, and who is this Giguere guy? someone said that he's the Ducks goalie. did he play last night? i think someone stole his uniform and tied him up in the parking lot before the game. no situational awareness. he's too used to leaning on un-tested defensemen who've never had to pick between multiple scoring threats on the same line. vancouver and minnesota. come on.

Ducks coach had a great post-game news conference. good answers from a guy who got totally out-coached.

Berries Dingle is right. If Alfredsson's obvious hit from behind into the dasher of the boards didn't earn him a suspension then Pronger shouldn't be, either. The Pronger hit was more "legal" than the Alfredsson hit, so we'll be seeing Pronger in the lineup for Game 4.

No, they didn't have enough guts to suspend any of the Flames for their cheap shots (except McLennan) in Game 5 in the first round, and the series was over at that point. They won't suspend Pronger while the series is still up for grabs.

I'm in agreement with most of the people here. I suspect if it were Travis Moen or another lesser player, the chances of it being a suspension would increase. I also suspect that if Holmstrom did not have such a mutated and invincible head, a suspension would be likely. The league is pretty dense. You pretty much have to be near death to get any justice.

At the very least they are looking into it, though:

No.

I wonder if Pronger had hurt his elbow on the back of Holmstrom's head if Holmstrom would be facing a suspention. LOL

guy, those idiots would desire to quit asserting "it is hockey, take valuable like a guy". He Did! He got here back! Hits are a ingredient of hockey sure, i wont argue with that. i performed. yet whilst a guy comes from in the back of, with the two elbows aimed in the direction of a adult males head, a guy who up till then had scorched the geese for 2 objectives by applying the way, it is a affordable shot meant to reason harm. I even have some questions for the chick that announces she performed hockey and that Holmstrom didnt take it like a guy. a million) became into it a interior of sight league or college or what? i understand alot of leagues that dont enable not elementary hits, some no hits in any respect. 2) what style of head kit did u positioned on? Did it have a cage? 3)Did you ever get your face smashed into the glass by applying 2 super dudes, considered one of which used their elbows to punish the back of your head? and four) in case you performed in a league that allowed significant hits, wore head kit without cage or guard, and did get hit like that, DID you come again AND MAKE a great help? quit performing difficult you ***. How did he not "take it like a guy"? i assume you're asserting he took it like a..............you? additionally, to the guy who reported those varieties of Wings followers on indexed right here are bandwagon jumpers. precisely HOW do you recognize somebody is a bandwagon jumper? you're a bandwagon jumper. I dont have any evidence, or reason to think of that, yet hey, in case you are able to say it, so am i able to.

Chris Pronger is notorious in the NHL for his stickwork on forwards too. I guess if you are a star player it just doesn't matter what you do. I don't like Chris Pronger because of his dirty play. I hate to see intent to injure on the ice.

I wish Yzerman was back so he could put another slapshot into Prongers chest and give him another bout of arhythmia. I liked watching Pronger fall down trying to skate away after that one.

edit: I didn't wish for his heart to stop. Arythmia isn't fatal, just painful. I don't want to see him die either.

No way, they shouldn't even think about it. They blew there chances. First, they give a penalty to the wrong person, than Holstrong came back and played. Why should Pronger be suspended. I know it was a dirty hit, but still. He came back and played for the 3rd period.

Let's hope so...if Holmstrom didn't turn his head back to the forward position, his neck could've snapped, or worse, died on the ice as a result.

No. They do not have the nads to pull one of the best players from the Ducks lineup.. They should as he has a history of cheap hits.

P.S. He may be a thug but wishing for his heart to stop again is a bit much.
