It is a middle size dose. I just read in my nursing handbook that it may be prescribed in doses up to 200 mg/day. Here is another thought... it might take time for this new med to build up a therapeutic level in your system. Good luck.

Usually you start off at 25mg ...
but you can go to 200 mg.
Cymbalta is much stronger than Zoloft. You might need to ask for an anti anxiety med in conjunction with your Zoloft to get a similar effect to Cymbalta

I was on Zoloft for years. The lowest dose it comes in is 25 mg. The usual dose is 50 mg per day (it comes in that size too). The larger dose (but not a huge one) is 100 mg per day.
If you stop Zoloft of miss your pills, be prepared to get a killer headache. Make sure you get WEANED off of it when you switch!!! Don't just quit taking it!
I was on Lexapro and switched jobs/insurance. The new insurance wouldn't pay for Lexapro, so I had to try another drug. I tried it for a month and it didn't work at all for me. So I went back to my psychiatrist and told him. He said that there are forms you can fill out to get the insurance to pay for the drug that was working for you. So we were going to do that.
However, when I called the insurance company and told them what was going on (to get the forms sent to the Dr.) they told me that because I had tried the other medicine, they would now pay for the Lexapro if the doctor prescribed it. So I got my Lexapro back. :)
Call your doctor's office or your insurance to see what can be done. Make sure you have a list of symptoms that have returned (sleeping too much or not enough, feeling suicidal, feeling sad or guilty, missing work or school, not being motivated, etc).
Hang in there and good luck! :)

I think 100 is kind of a high dose, most patients are started off on 25 to 50mg. Bad med, for weight gain too.

Your psychiatrist is the expert on this matter. Must communicate and follow your doctor's recommendations. Expensive or cheap is not the issue. All medication works very different on different people.

never was there, never did that
my friend used to take it and she was more pleasant to be around. It put a curb on her mood swings and OCD
